Re-purposing my pet project

Well, finding Federals in the South is pretty much like pulling hen's teeth. Since I've become more involved with my current group, I'm re-purposing The Southern Loyalists site as a research-only project. I'm still very interested in Southern Unionism, so I'm determined not to let good works go to waste.

That's amazing! I guess I thought that might have been the feelings of some of the folks in the border states but I really had no idea.

Last summer my youngest daughter and I drove from Florida through the lovely State of Georgia. I loved the red dirt, the peach orchards and the pecan groves!
We got off Interstate 75 somewhere around Jackson and headed northeast up to Gainesville in the pouring rain. The next day the sun came out and the air smelled just like perfume. We headed over to Dahlonega which just might be called, 'the gateway to the Blue Blue'! I now know why it's called that... the trees are so green they appear to be blue from the vistas of the mountains. We stopped off at Woody Gap to hike the Appalachian Trail. Then drove on through the scenic Cherokee National Forest of Tennessee. I just loved driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains! It was a wonderful trip and I hope to do it again!
